Endings

I have often heard that am obsessed with happy endings. But I wonder. What is truly that One story like? A love that culminates into forever? Or a love that doesn't? They say the greatest love is often incomplete like Romeo Juliet, Heer Ranjha, Laila Majnu, Sahiba Mirza and even tales from our epics like the love of Ram Sita, Kanha Radha and Shiva Sati. So where is love triumphing in those tales? Being in Love doesn't really mean you always end up together in a pitch perfect story, get married or have kids and tell your grandkids this story of your life. It means the love you feel is a happy one. It can be any kind of love, for someone, something, some place, attachment, or even yourself. The one story you carry in your heart is memories to cherish all life and not lessons, is the One Love you seek. It often means living your dream, your entire story in the littlest moments of love. Happy endings don't mean ending up together with someone. It means finding yourself in a n...

Wheel of Time

Image
O Time, do riddle me this. Is your flow a boon or a curse? Why is keeping pace a must? Why can't I just stop for a view? Not care if I am flowing with you? They say you turn luck and fate,  This shall pass; things won't be the same.  The ever-changing wheel is an assurance. But ever did they think,  That it turns sooner to the good,  Ends things that you hold dear;  People, places, memories and mood.  "Everything happens for the better"  They often make such tall claims. How do they know who flows with it? Time never promises the same. ~ Suranya

Forgiveness

"Forgive those who don't even seek forgiveness!" Poor Thing! Can't even dare to face their own mistakes! How could they face you? ~ Suranya

Return

The blazing sun had withered away greenery. The scorching heat had dried her completely. She stared at the blue sky sadly. As he passes by, a white cotton ball in the sky. He had fallen for her that day. Her withered flaws didn't matter to him. Her nurturing nature made him want to return to her. But how could the cloud touch the earth? How could they possibly meet? God smiled at his creations. Come the season, he turned grey, in love with her who awaited his return. The thunder announced his homecoming as he turned into raindrops. She had welcomed him with open arms. To do away with her flaws and complete her. He, in turn, was loaded with so much, he found relief in her. But at last the sun shone again; drop by drop, she was left behind as he returned to his journey. But he promised to come back as rain whenever she needed him to. Never to stay, though. Their duties permitted no forevers. The Earth always awaited his return. ~ Suranya

Mother's Love

The Queen was proud. Her twelve-year-old was going to war. A Mother's hand shook at the tilak. The Mother's love had won over the Rajputani heart! ~ Suranya

Subhadra

She lost him in the war. Tricked by the own.  His son's fingers held hers. She knew he was home. ~ Suranya

Bow

He Bowed. Not before the Mighty Mughals. Not before his rivals. Not before impossible dreams. But only... Before her. Every time she reached in vain To Do His Tilak. Because even if he was the Maharana. She was The Wife! ~ Suranya

Kumbhalgarh Ke Aanchal Mein, Ek Balak Jab Raat Ko Ro Utha, Subah Suraj Muskaayi Thi, Mewar ne Khushiyaan Manayi Thi. Jab Jab Uske Teer Chale, Talwar Kisise Takraye, Shatru Ke Wrid Kaape, Uske Naam Se Aise Daare. Bheel O Ke Woh Mitra Kika, Mewar Ka Dharti Putra Tha, Veer Pratap Janam Se Hi, Mewar Ka Rakhwala Tha. Bhai Shakti Jab Gaye Chodh Sinhasan Ka Mol Jana. Bhai Bhai Se Laree Aise Moh Hai Takt Ka Maana. Ajab Amar Hai Unki Kahani, Baccho Baccho Ko Hai Sunani, Jaivanta Ke Guroor Se Paale, Kshatriya Woh Jo Kabhi Na Taale. Chittor Ke Jauhar Ke Ashko Se, Jiska Rajya Baitha Tha, Uss Pratap ne Kabhi Bhi, Dusra Jauhar Na Hone Di. Haldighati Ke Mitti Ko Range Rakt Talai Tha. Man Singh Pe Vaar Kiye Woh, Chetak Se Toh Sher Bhi Darta Tha. Dukh Bhare Jeevan Mein Woh, Na Jaane Kitne Apne Khoye, Ajab Chetak Ke Jaane Se, Rajya Se Bhi Vimukh Huye. Par Jhuka Nahi Sarr Rajput Ka. Larte Rahe Woh Mughalo Se. Anth Mein Akbar Ne Maana, Nahi Jhukega Pratap Talwaro Se. Hari Ghaas Ki Roti Khayi, Malmal Mein ...

Devotion

Image
I met my God the day I met you,  For the sacred shrine of my Heart  Has chosen You as its Deity  Of the Religion I call Love. I have known you since Eternity,  My Soul speaks to yours beyond realms,  It needs no reciprocation  For me, Love is Devotion  And a Devotee does not need  To see God, to believe that he exists. ~ Suranya

Victim

"Don't go out alone." "Don't wear that dress." "Don't come late." She was raped..In front of a guy friend. In a Salwar. One Evening. Teach them not to rape. Not us to fear them. ~ Suranya They say justice can come late. But it is always served. We hope so too. We won't forget you, Nirbhaya. Neither will we forgive such animals who make us fear darkness, lonely lanes and wearing our choices. We won't forget and forgive those who make our parents worry if we are even a little late. We won't call them men who don't treat a woman as a respected equal. Those who never know the word consent. We won't forgive those parents who don't teach their 'ghar ka chirag' the right way to treat women inside and outside the house. "Woh toh ladka hai" ... Ha, ladka hai Bhagwan nahi! Changes start from Home. Hoping to see justice served soon.

One

Don't regret how he makes you feel He is either A lesson or An experience If not The One ~Suranya

Temporary

Image
A castle of sand,  Some names on the shore,  The rippling waves.  Nothing was permanent. She sat quietly.  Yet her heart beat and breathed Made all the music. Nothing was silent. Except for her soul  That finally made peace  In all that was temporary.  Places and People. © Suranya
