Colours of Love

Once upon a time, colours celebrated love. And Holi, the triumph of good over evil. Today, the festival has turned into a photographer's paradise, a selfie queen's destination and an art of showing how much you believe in the tradition of your culture. People flock to Vraj Festival and Vrindavan just to put up stories that disappear in a day. Or perhaps for some likes on Facebook. But what about the triumph of good over evil? God laughs sarcastically as yet another bomb takes innocent lives across the globe. Yet another child is stripped of his childhood with abuse, rape or perhaps death. Yet another soldier returns home in a coffin while the terrorist escapes. No wonder it's not the triumph of good over evil anymore. Humanity has died a slow death. Holi today is a holiday, a feast or perhaps a get-together. The promise of love changes colour every day. Just like human beings.
