The still sky was in love with the turbulent sea. She was everything he was not. Bold, rebellious and full of life. He was vast. Endless. And mysterious. No one ever reached him. Neither the birds nor the buildings. As much as humans tried to touch him, he raised his head above all. He was untouched. Alone. The sea, on the other hand, was a giver of life. He touched lives every day. Thousands survived for her. The sky tried to show off his skills for life, too. He tried to impress her with the sun that adorned him for half a day. The hot sun boiled her water; the life around her complained. He tried to shine the moonlight on her darkest nights, but the moon couldn't take away her darkness. The sea smiled at his wooing. The sky was up for another plan. He coloured the sea in his blue. All through the day, he changed shades from midnight blue to turquoise to light blue and back again. The sea was impressed. She reflected his love. He sent sun rays to touch her ripples and filled her heart with the warmth of his love. He said she was his better half. But she sulked.
The sea complained that she didn't have stars, like the sky. The sun and the moon only shone on her > water. But she couldn't find the stars that shine in the sky like diamonds. Smiling, the sky sent some rays again. The ripples reflected them and laid down a thousand glittering stars for the sea. In return, the sea gave him some of her salty water via the messenger of rays. The sky decorated himself in them as the sea smiled at the white and grey clouds hovering over her. Days passed by in distance, and they reflected on each other's love. The wind finally brought the news of the sky's willingness to meet the sea. Catching some wind on the way, the sea tried in vain to rise above and tried to send some waves to meet the sky.
However, she couldn't reach the sky so far away. He remained untouched. So she added some more water to the wind's turbulence. The sky rejected the gift, upset that she didn't come to meet him.
The water poured down in droplets like his tears on her. Could they never meet? The sky wondered. The sea smiled.
"I am only a reflection of you, you are the colour to my soul."
The sky smiled at her once more.
Love just needed the touch of souls. They have had that in plenty. And as the sun was about to set with an orange hue, He decided to bow to her love. For the universe that day, the sky finally met the sea at the horizon.
